NAMPA — Terry Reilly Health Services celebrated its 45th anniversary Monday afternoon. The community health center held a reception and a free public health fair to mark the occasion.

Terry Reilly Community Health Centers serve more than 30,000 people in Idaho, many of whom would not have access to healthcare otherwise. Dozens of community leaders and legislators were on hand to celebrate the services centers provide here in the Treasure Valley.

Sen. Mike Crapo delivered the opening remarks and emphasized the importance of community health centers across the state.

“It’s an incredibly important part of the fabric of our community here in Idaho,” Crapo said. “We must be sure that everyone in Idaho has access to quality healthcare. And when you’re talking about people who either geographically or culturally or financially are unable to access healthcare, you see a big population of Idaho who is facing serious risk.”

Monday’s reception was held at Terry Reilly’s newly-renovated facility in Nampa. Terry Reilly Health Services CEO Heidi Traylor said that right now the push is to modernize all of its centers.

“What I’d really like people to know is that we’re a state-of-the-art healthcare system,” said Traylor. “We’re working really hard to make sure people get access to high quality healthcare, that we’re managing the cost of healthcare because we understand it’s terribly expensive.”

The state’s 16 community health centers provide patient-centered primary, dental and behavioral healthcare  based on a sliding health fee scale.
