The Times News: Sen. Crapo Says Time Is Ripe for Tax Reform

TWIN FALLS | U.S. Sen. Mike Crapo likens the U.S. tax code to a thousand Pick Up Sticks jumbled on a table.

Instead of trying to examine each piece one at a time, the senator from Idaho suggests wiping the table clean and starting fresh.

Crapo, while addressing a group of business owners Monday in Twin Falls, criticized current tax law and said the atmosphere is right for progress on tax reform between Republicans and Democrats.

“There is an opportunity,” he said. “Both sides want to get it done.”

Crapo said the U.S. tax code “is probably the most unfair, the most complex, expensive to comply with and anti-competitive to our businesses.”…
